The Chinese Legal Centre, part of the Chinese Overseas Foundation, is the data controller. We are a company registered in England and Wales (number 13995157), at 142 Buckingham Palace Road, London SW1W 9TR. We are regulated by the Immigration Advice Authority (IAA), IAA Ref N202200010.

Usually you give this to us yourself, in person, by phone, by email or through an interpreter:

- Name, date of birth, nationality, contact details, and the language you prefer.

Sensitive information敏感信息敏感資料
Some matters require us to record information the law treats as especially sensitive — health, ethnic origin, religious belief, sexual orientation, or details of criminal proceedings. We only record what your case genuinely needs. Where the law requires it, we rely on the condition that the processing is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims, or on your explicit consent.

5. Sending information outside the UK五、向英国境外传输五、向英國境外傳輸
We keep your information in the UK wherever possible. If a matter requires us to send information abroad — for example to an embassy or an overseas lawyer — we will tell you first, and we will only do so with appropriate safeguards in place.

We keep case files for as long as the IAA's record-keeping requirements and our insurers require, and then securely destroy them. Enquiries that do not become cases are deleted sooner.

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you; ask us to correct it if it is wrong; ask us to delete it or restrict how we use it; and object to certain uses. Some of these rights are limited where we must keep records by law. Ask us and we will explain what applies to you.
